These are the true realities of the solders in Iraq and Afghanistan as stated through the prayer requests of the Chaplin with the Canadian Forces in Afghanistan. 

They are a demonstration of the many and profound needs the solders face in the circumstances of war.  May this touch your hearts to be of support both  in prayer and in action!  

• Physical, emotional and spiritual protection of our military personnel; 

   

• For the immense sacrifice lived by the military families due to a long absence caused by the war. Pray for our children who are somewhat traumatized by the absence of a father or mother, and the thought that this person might die; 

   

• Pray for the Afghan people, the majority of them do not want the war and would like to raise their kids in peace. Pray that God send laborers who will witness the love of God in this Muslim country; 

   

• Pray for the Government, and the difficult decisions that have to be taken from the governing authorities; 

   

• Pray for a safe and sound return of our troops. Pray for the families who are in mourning because of the death of a loved one. Pray for the soldiers coming back with physical wounds, and those that are haunted because of the experiences they went through, making them survivors of war…; 

   

• Pray for the five chaplains accompanying the Canadian Contingent – that God may instruct us, that His compassion by upon us and that we may have the distinguishing of spirits in order to realize that there is a spiritual war in the hearts of the local people and in the hearts of our Canadian soldiers.
